A Superb story presented BADly…

I had huge hopes on this movie and planned to visit a theoter to watch it. But one of my friends laughed at the idea. “Its nothing more than a comedy of a game designer who wants to impress his son. I wonder how he managed to spend the grand figure. The graphics are far from real.” When I saw it myself, god I was hugely disappointed. The promise made in the promos was broken. The depth of the story which is so much visible in the sci fi stories of the west was so much missing in it. For a major part, I kept cluelessly predicting the logic behind the storyline. I thought I could improve it with some some of my own ideas thrown in so that some-other-wood (Tolly/Holy/Koly etc) people if they want to remake it in a better way…

Prologue: In the kingdom of an Ancient Indian King, some black magicians try to steal a scripture of that holds the secret to the prosperous life of its inhabitants. They plan to black mail the king to get wealth in return. But 1 of them with hideous plans of his own takes control and tries to destroy everything. A hero of this time saves the day by killing the villain, but at the cost of his own life.

Caption: Bodies may die but the spirits live on…

Years later scientist invent a method of producing the virtual world in reality. After a long time this highly confidential millitary secret, is made available for the first time to public with huge implications. Poeple could have their long dead relatives with them just like spirits we believe to be surrounding us. The scientists even aim in future to develop a way to decode the memories of people from minds and make it appear in reality, stating that they would MATERIALISE THE BELIEFS hitherto only confined to Minds of People or Books. A game developer decides to design a game with the help of this technology. The designer takes inspiration from the same scripture mentioned in the prologue to create self evolving characters.

The rest of the story proceeds in the same way, except that the characters don’t have a material body in the beginning. Ra1 proceeds by taking control of people’s mind with his virtual image, while G1 does the same by winning peoples heart with his good work. Both gain the material body from another technolgy which doesn’t see light of day due to lack of sufficiently creative programming. With the virtually evolving beings, everythings takes a wrong turn. The final fight gains up a lot of meaning this way.

The concept of the story presented in this way would have had a much better meaning. Would have given the sci fi crazy fans in india their own technically accurate movie which would also hold something original to the Indian culture.

Just tried to render a scene after they (G1, Prateek – A boy, and his mother) have run away from Ra-One. I am introducing another character – “The sage” who is my own creation to make things clear.

“How can he interact with matter? He is just a graphic projection in 3D. Only matter can interact with matter. This is growingly becoming like an Indian Movie.” cried the boy.

“It seems what I feared the most, has happened.” An old man draped in Orange cloth is besides them. ‘Where did HE come from?’ wonders the boy. “There is no time to waste. Come with me. Run!”

The attic was damp with the smell of wood in air. The room had full fledged AC but still the forehead of the sage was sweating.

“I am not getting anything of this. First he gains control of the game and comes into the real world. Then he starts controlling the minds of people with hipnotism making them do things he wishes to do himself. And now he’s changing his appearance and interacting with matter. Wha..” He strode unrestfully looking for some formal word to throw, and finally he couldn’t find one that the sage would be pleased with, he gave up.

The sage and virtual body of G1 stayed silent. The sage in deep thought of disbelief at what he had encountered and G1 trying to make sense of things going on around him. “That is the only possibility.” he said face still grave and thoughtful.

“Indian Movies? But this is reality, I haven’t ever experienced anything out of natures laws. Although everyone talks so much…”

“No talks are hallow words. Everything spoken or believed has a meaning, a hidden message of caution in it.” He looked damn serious sapna knew it because only a damn serious man could silence her son down. “You men of science will for sure one day put our abode into seriuos threat owing to your ignorance towards elderly wisdom.”

“Would you stop giving a lecture and come to the point. That Ra1 could be causing more damage and with every passing moment becoming more strong.”

“Fools, you brake your own ceiling in dire need of sunlight, and when it starts raining, you wonder about it.”

“Please, I don’t understand anything of it. I have already lost my love. If I couldn’t bear it myself, I can’t see how those women out there would. Please do what you can. He must be stopped.”

He took a deep breath and started. “Many years ago, Indian sages had developed a scripture that had immense power in it. Power to give life and that out of nothing.”

“Out of nothing? How would that be?”

“If only you studied your science correctly you would know. Everything in this universe is expanding. So it would have started somewhere.”

“The big Bang”

“Indians depicted it in their epics in another form. They showed Brahma coming out of a blooming Lotus.”

“Huh… just a lucky shot in the dark”

“You could get lucky only once in a while. Not every time. Anyway, this of coarse comes out of nothing. But all of what comes is not the same. Two opposite kinds of energies are created. One becoming matter and another Antimatter. If these two energies come in contact, they would return back to nothingness. They had designed the mantras for operating on human minds and huge distruction followed. So, they decided to keep it in hiding.”

“What has that got to do with Ra1?”

“Ever since I met your father I knew that the age old secret has been unweiled. His game was based on these very principles. Creating two thoughts out of nothingness the good ones being transfered to G1 and…”

“The bad ones to Ra1. But that still doesn’t explain his interaction with matter, he could slap and punch men. Even if this could be considered some kind of hipnotic effect, he happened to physically destroy vehicles and buildings. How can he affect things that don’t have their own mind?”

“He has now got a body.”

“That can’t be! That statue was just for demonstration! Had nothing on the inside. Don’t tell me you are blindly believing the rumours everyone is spreading.”

“I am not talking about that demo statue. There is something else because of which I wanted him to stop.”

“Stop with the game? It is such a brillliant idea. Application of the Ancient Indian Wisdom so the whole world can enjoy with awe. India has never come to light in Gaming Industry.”

“You still think I am unhappy just because he put these ideas into the game?”

“You were always against that. Didn’t you try persuading him into stopping? I saw it so many times myself.”

“Yes I wanted him to stop, but game was never my real problem.” The boy was stuck, he tried searching his memory for all those instances of arguments. He wondered why he never bothered to know what exactly was going on.The sage was right, he had never mentioned the game ever. The boy hated himself now for having hated talking with his own Dad. He had no idea what else the old man didn’t want his father to do.

“Your father teamed of with western scientists and shared the sacred secret with them.” The boy was awestruck. He couldn’t make sense of his father, just a game designer turning into…”No!” he shouted.

The sage just gave a slight hint of sarcasm and continued. “The damn materialists applied those same principles to create opposites of some type of matter.” He kept a square piece in front of them. The boy starred on wondering what the dice shaped red cube could be like to touch. “It was a very secretly developed millitary technology. But it failed because they couldn’t design a sufficiently flexible program to control it.

“Until Appa did it.”

“What you father wanted to do was only Good. But combined with the foolishness of the western greed, it has resulted into the impending problem.” There was silence for a long time. Everyone lost in what they’d learnt. The sage showed a little depression as if he himself was responsible for it all.

“Its all right Dadu, you couldn’t have done anything.” For the first time in all this while G1 had talked. I have started to understand the situation a bit correctly. But I cannot yet figure out how I can stop Ra1. I don’t have a body yet.”

“That is what worries me.”

“Is there any way G1 too could get a body?”

“According to the Ancient Wisdom in the scripture, Nothing can only create two opposites at a time, which when united together can annihilate – get completely destroyed. We have to find the place where the scientists were experimenting with the cubes.”

“And then, what next.”

“Then we have to find the remains of the opposite matter which will be blue in colour to make up my body. I have a feeling I can load my program into them. Then I wouldn’t have to rely on a computer to project myself into reality”

“You would look odd made up of blue cubes.”

“Not to worry, the virtual reality would give me a cover such that the cubes always stay inside. That’s exactly how Ra1 is at the moment.”

The sage looked relieved a little and even seemed enjoying the light moment. “Never thought an Aatma could give visible delight”

People of the east speak of this thing a lot (there of coarse are some exceptions). Why only east? Well, there is a reason that goes very deep and as all my concepts, even this is concirned with the Divine. For now, you would agree that they depend on another form of the same concept – Destiny.

I had heard of this difference in a novel written by a chinese author (Amy Tan in ‘The Kitchen God’s Wife’) for the first time. And it lay there for some time. Untill in a Creative Visualisation this explaination struck.

Many people hate to believe that they are working out the plan of some damn Creator who has written down all the happenings in advance. So did I. But a question arises, what have such people been able to accomplish? They are ruthless with nature and ready to cross any boundary of principles. If all the leaders are considered as gaurds whose task is to silence their companions in a stealth mission, these are the ones who end up creating maximum noise.

It has even been proved mathamatically (I read in a book named ‘Medusa and Snail – The notes of a Biologist’). Don’t remember the name of author or the Mathematician he had mentioned, but sure enough he believed, that the controlers are sometimes the only problem for a system. And if they are isolated or kept from influencing the system in a drastic way, it has a greater chances of performing for longer periods.

God, as I say, has lost the contact with Humans. And we know that its all about the Mind and realisation of the Atman that all the spiritual quest amounts to. But, in no way does any of the principles mentioned in the Vedas lead us logically to conclude that such thing as Fate exists.

The Shrapa of Rishis sure used to become true, but that was just like entering the psych of a person and torturing from within. The person has to be enough engrossed into the blind belief of Rishi’s powers for result to make sense. The same can be explained with the Family Gods. The Atma entering from one body to another and all…

But, a person tells by watching your hand when would you die or another tells you that marrying a particular girl would bring bad luck. How is this justified? If no such being exists who can manipulate matter only with the power of Mind, and all the miracles were the result of something like a Day-dream, then where are the chances that a Fate remains?

The answer is much more obvious, and as with all the knowledge of the universe, it will demean and make it unfit practically, the moment it is revealed.

IT WAS NOT GOD, BUT HIS FOLLOWERS WHO CAME TOGETHER TO SACRIFICE THEIR SELFS AND DESIGN A STABLE PREDICTABLE SYSTEM OF SOCIETY.

Palmistry has a scientific explaination, and it involves the Divine as an equal half. We know that each person has unique finger prints (thanks to the detective serials on Idiot Box). In a way, it thus reflects the genes of a person. And genes, as we know define the characteristics of a person. They are the basis of Maya and the initiators of Moha. So, a man experience enough has a possibility of knowing the inner nature (which we mask from others) of a man. The rest of the things are all fixed up. The system of Society, Customes, Traditions, Celebrations (Elders sure yell at maintaining the Muhurtams). So, logically, there is a possibility that a person can tell the probability of happenings of the future. How much experience does one require this way? We don’t know what law decides the proportion between of Life Span and Truth in hearts of People.

Everything points towards this conclusion. As for the darker half, there is this concept of Shrapa. Whatever the realised person (Rishi) says, turns out to be true. What if a Rishi uses this respect for a personal gain? First the question – Would he? Theoretically speaking, he has crossed all the bonds of life. And if he does so, it would not take effect. Because this means he hasn’t been able to cross all the bonds (so he is not a Brahmin at all). If he screws the system with the political power, there is the system. The system would screw him. Either in the same Janma or the later ones.

Is it difficult for you to believe? It is so much obvious. The principles of Fate no longer Rule Life. Some bloody Pujaries tried to screw the system for money. Give me this much and I shall tell you how to evade death. Was (or even is) it true? We will never know. We have lost the contact with Permatma. Or rather, a stable Permatma doesn’t exist at all – We have lost a stable Permatma. The result? the system came back to screw them. Just have a look at their life in the present moments.

The once tip of the heirarchy chain in India, have no government aids, reservations, or even respect. After Independance, the Brahmins (Knowers of Brahman) were supposed to reinstate the dharma in the perspective of the new culture that had arrived. But they stuck with the old obsolate one. Were (and Are) they waiting for an Avataar? Would one come? Accepted, that the committed elders who had grown up in an India Isolated from the rest of the world, had incorporated Fate perfectly into the society. And the faith was strong enough for a person to realise, the increasing Adharma and arise in protest. But the good men and deeds have become obsolate now, with materialism having creeped in everywhere. Even if the awaited one some day realises his Destiny (Fate no longer exists), would he be able to find a peaceful path to end the age of Kali?

This word is one of the basic building block of any religion. And a word that connect the east with the west. I don’t know who exactly coined it (let’s leave the task for academicians to find out) but it is obvious that sanskrit has a word for the same concept that sounds similar – Divya. A lot many books, people (and what not) are available that try to explain this but somehow they all end up being conclusions drawn by the wise men who had realised the truth in it. But none of what I read and still read satisfies me. So finally one day, I sat in one of great many and most sophesticated labs existing with this problem, what I derived was a pure philosophy that united the concepts of Spirits, Divinity, Gods and Miracles into one world that is so obvious – MIND! The very platform for my experiments.

There is a doubt I need to clear before we proceed – I mean Mind and NOT Brain. Let’s consider the example of the modern technology to understand this concept. Suppose you have a CD or DVD of “Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix” and you are very upset about a certain sequence in it (perhaps the death of a character). You decide to alter the disk such that the particular sequence turns desirable. So, you find out the exact point where the frame of the sequence exists and alter it (somehow). Would that change the rest of the film? No. It’s foolish to think so, a disk doesn’t have life or dynamics, what is written on it is written. Unless some technician spends nights trying to design a gadget that can do the task (which none has time for), it is not possible.

The same is the case with brain and mind. Brain is the disk and Mind the video in it. You are not so much concerned about the disk (i.e if you are crazy about Mr. Potter for you may get a new one) but what happens in the movie moves you. Even brain doesn’t have nerves and I had seen a cartoon somewhere that shows a boy reading happily as a surgeon is operating his brain (cartoonists sure are creative). Everyone has the same brain but it is mind that makes difference. And in mind dwells the atma or soul as we call it. Heart is just a place where it expresses itself and hence we take heart to be the divine abode (you would know it if you happen to have fallen in love). This it is which finds mention in the Vedas “It can’t be wetted by water (washing the CD wouldn’t cause rain in Hogwarts), nor can fire burn it. It has never born and would continue to live for ever”

Holy men around the world maintain places and objects they call divine. The deities, temples and whatever else. But these are only steps for leading us towards that divine being who knows the heart of every man on earth. In whome the wise spiritual leaders found the absolute peace. If the steps leading to a temple get destroyed would it mean even the temple doesn’t exist. There can be more ways! The fools around the world seem to enjoy breaking other’s steps instead of minding their own. The result we have all got disconnected from God. Now science promises us total distruction if we remain loyal to it long enough.

Anyway let’s leave that for time to decide. For now let’s move on a mythic fantasy (No religion or discussion of the divine is complete without myths). Myths have inspired souls since time immemorial and yet in the modern time they are shunned as blind beliefs. Science has always tried to demean them and move people away from them. But time and again religion was the thing scientists turned to, to find answers to the questions raging within them. To disregard genesis, the theory of spontaneous generation was stated. Imagine being tought in college how a shirt transforms itself into a full grown rat overnight (and this from a scientist). How foolish you may say. But at this very moment you might be doing tasks that are relatively more foolish than this. About the theory, they had to return to genesis and the theory of evolution was devised by Darwin. It was the same with Big Bang.

I don’t know why I am telling all this, for in India the difference in Knowledge and Religion came with the British. Here religions were based on the divine knowledge. Tolerance is a western concept because they believe in satisfying selves with material (they just don’t want the bread spoiled while fighting for it). In India people sacrificed their selves to reach higher levels where everything gets united and the normal men of the modern world don’t have the luxury of even imagining it. Here even the wars were fought on the divine plane. There were Divya Astras. As child I wondered how could the warriers shoot arrows that would meet point-on in the middle and more fascinatingly return when apologised, and how could whatever a rishi say be correct – shrapa.

Millions of Millions of years before when there was nothing but Dark Vacuum everywhere, a point vomited huge amounts of Energy away from itself. The rate of generation was so great that at superfine level the Absence and Presence of Energy lead to Creation of a stable forms that seperated into distinguishable entities – Particles. A universe was born!

As time passed on, the Unstable Particles disintegrated and the others got bound in complex ways due to Physical forces to form a stable cloud (hereonwards known as Matter). Matter was attractive in nature (Gravity) and tried to concentrate all of it at one point. But the speed with which it was thrown at the time of Big Bang didn’t allow this. Anyway, Matter flying away in the same direction came together forming lumps (Spatial bodies). Some such Bodies were Compressed so densely by Gravity, that a Reaction initiated in them (they turned Stars), for the first time since Big Bang, Light illuminated Darkness again.

Gravity always tried to bring together all the bodies. But the Momentum they had picked up at Big Band ended up making the lighter bodies move around the Heavier ones in Orbits. One such system (The Solar), with a tiny star at the center, had still smaller speck of Matter (Earth).

Initially, Earth was similar to the other objects (a Gaseous ball), but as it cooled down, the Matter got distinguished into two states – Solid, that was tough and Fluids that were softer. The fluids again seperated into two phases – liquids, that kept touching Matter under the influence of Gravity and that were denser than Gases, the starting phase (major portion) of all the Matter. Cooling continued, the Gases condensed and fell on Earth in showers (Rain). The Gravity kept the gases from escaping into the Spatial Void thus forming a protective blanket around spherical, solid Earth.

Rains were always accompanied with sparks between atmosphere and Land due to the imbalance in Charge distribution (Lightning). This process continuing for long period of time, resulted in a complex molecule that could replicate itself. For the first time since Big Bang, a tiny speck of Matter moved against the Physical Forces. Life originated!

These Self Replicating Molecules (Genetic Material) continued to thrive bringing the atmospheric changes (due to Respiration). Many times their chain ended abruptly, but the dynamic conditions always created other forms of Genetic Materials which were more fit and complex. The complexity kept increasing and more kinds of such molecules formed. The stable and fit ones survived whereas the simple and incompetetive became obsolate. The changes continued – Earth cooled down further, the molecules got a protective cover for themselves (Cells were formed), Atmosphere became rich in Oxygen, some Cells started consuming other Cells for survival, then they started living in groups (Community), Atmosphere sheathed Earth’s surface from the Radiations of Sun reducing the Mutations. Now the Communities increased in complexity till a time where there was a point at which all the cells of the community seized to live at same time (Organism formed).

Some Organisms started storing the Environmental Information at specific reagions of their Body (Animals). Brain became the Abode of Mind and Awareness. There were some, in which this Seperation didn’t occur (Plants). Then as Earth cooled down further, the lowering temperature formed Ice-caps at the Poles increasing the terrestrial land. The organisms evolved to accustom themselves with dry land. Although mutations had dominated the task of evolution for centuries, now the control was taken over (because radiations were stopped by Ozone layer) by Mind. While DNA, the Evolved Self-Replicating Molecule controlled the growth of cells, Mind decided how DNA was altered (which happened when it concluded the need for it, through the senses).

Evolution took up a disciplined path now. Mind was the designer and nature the tester. Both were working in perfect harmony without blaming each other for anything when the next important step in the development of existance happened. The most developed organism of all time was awarded the boon of choise. For the first time in history, someone could decide to do anything (which included ending itself). But with this boon, came a bane, Mind was seperated into two parts – A conscious part, that allowed the organism to decide and an unconscious part, that retained the involuntary control.

The change continued, the conscious part grew stronger with time. It developed an entity called ego, an ‘I’. And this ‘I’ was unsatisfyable and ever curious. The higher organisms (Human beings) felt the presence of the unconscious part in different forms. They started connecting the insidences withing their minds with the Matter visible outside. For the first time in History, a Human being stood below open sky shouting loudly to his unconscious Mind. Religion was born! There were some, who were cunning and saw through the deception. They dug earth, locked themselves withing four walls, scribbled on slices of matter trying to maintain the knowledge for reference by the conscious part. There was science.

As a boy I enjoyed the stories told by my Grand ma (Thanks to frequent electricity failures). I thought the world was a perfect place to be. Everything invented already, Gods taking proper care of the world (My Grand Ma still maintains a corner in home where the various deities of Gods are arranged). But when I reached school, all that changed. Man was defined as a MACHINE (though machine was only his invention), Gods were shunned as blind beliefs and Science hailed as the true knowledge. I took the thread and for the next few years followed the psych of a scientist. A greater surprise was waiting for me in the books of the Pre-University college – The definations of the sciences. When I learnt that, I came to know that even science wasn’t complete. There are many more inventions possible and sure enough gadgets keeps coming up from time to time. The world was transformed from a perfect place to a dynamic one, completely unstable. At home I was told to respect elders (this includes lecterures), but I only found them slow and stupid. At school I was told to refer scientists, but I found them inventing more problems than solutions. Although both these branches are meant to give sustainance to life none was practically doing it. Science was (and is) helping Religion cause fights between humans.

I don’t exactly know what my other young friends think about this. But I have come to guess that they don’t care, they have learnt to ignore, or perhaps they don’t have time for this at all. As a child the one thing which I religiously followed was following others. First were my parents, and (because they told me to respect) the teachers. I was completely honest to this. I remember this instance of my life clearly still – I was sitting on floor watching a programme on Doordarshan with Aeroplanes. I was mystified by the ways of its operation – ‘How can so heavy an object fly away into thin air?’. Suddenly a voice cought my attention “Betaji (he always used to call me this way) you become a scientist in future and build such machines, but Betaji, never help the terrorists even if they kidnap your parents and profess to kill them.” It was my Dad. I saw a sadness in his expressions of a proud smile. Grand Ma says he was not allowed to study by Grand Pa since he was pushed to handle our family shop (Tailoring materials). I took his meaning deeply and it became my character that I couldn’t move ahead with further study if something in the basic concept felt wrong. And when I finally discovered the true knowledge, I find it has no respect.

Money is the God of present, and even Gods are weighed with it (Ever heard of the cost of Tirupati or Vatican…) And when I entered my youth even my Dad wanted money more than the quest he set me on. All the rules changed and that so suddenly. Fooling others became necessity, success (and the method of reaching it) was important now. Sacrifice was a fools job. Everything I thought beyond wealth suddenly got a cost tag – Friends, Knowledge and even Family. I had grown up in an open garden and suddenly I was locked in a room, walls closing in. Whom could I call? It was now that a miracle happened. From the same side of the world, which was responsible for the distruction of my culture, came a small booklet in my hands – ‘Creative Visualisation’ by Shakti Gawain.

The day was sunny (as it always is in Gulbarga), I was moving back to room from the tiring day at the engineering college (more because of the unintelligible babbling of the lecterures than any real work). An old shop besides a disposal corner came into view. My craving for reading something meaningful came active and I stood up. Complete works of Rabindranath Tagore, Adolf Hitler, William Shakespear were staring at me in mock. “Have you got enough in your pocket?” But I needed something cheap and small (a book that could be hidden easily from my friends who humoured anything out-of-syllabus). The word ‘Creative’ had cought my attention (I was known in my Residential School, The Manik Public for it) cost? Thirty Five. I didn’t know then that the small, dusty, classic looking book (which I chose over Sidney Sheldon’s thicker novel worth Forty Five) would change my life forever, giving me the most happy moments of my life not only in the future thereafter but also from the same past I hated so much.

We have all heard of miracles. Either from our Grand parents or while surfing TC channels hen we came across a dharmic serial bymistake. If we go back in time we will find their freguency of occurance incresing. In the west we had profets with special powers ordained by God & in the east (India) there were incarnations of God himself.

But the thing catches thought – Why have they suddenly disappeared. Now the only miracles we find are the after operation consolation given by the doctors or perhaps some chemical locha. What about the other fantastic powers. Conjuring things from air, or Disappearing/Appearing, Controlling the natural phenomenon etc etc etc… We no longer see them unless you consider the tricks of magician as one. God we say has all such powers. But they all are myths now only to be told to pass time when a grandma tells children on a dark night without electricity (Thanks to dear Ekta Kapoor). Does is mean we are moving away from God? The answer could be yes if we analyse the situation with unbiased thought.

Science has lead man to the top of the heirarchy chain. We see technological wonders sprouting up every now and then. Many men consider them miracles. But are they? Sure a man with a small device in his hand is able to contact anyone in majority of the parts around the world. And if the men from past come here to fight us, they wouldn’t even have any idea how fast and deceptively their plans would be shattered. Our technological advancement would appear a miracle to them. And they might even start worshipping us. But these are not miracles. Miracles have a special condition. A condition which any man on earth would accept the moment he is told but would be uncertain as to what exactly it is. Try guessing and if you can’t or don’t want to look below.

They are divine in origin.

But what is Divine? We only have conclusions given by the wise men who realised the truth. They spoon feeded us! We don’t know how to cook. If practitioners are asked to tell a perfect definition of divine so anyone can apply the knowledge to solve the problems in situations of life, there is a great probability that they would try to drag the discussion some other way – A story, or perhaps more conclusions. At the end of the discussion one is no way ahead than where he started. Now that’s what is the elderly stuff. I am young, so when I sat down in one of the great many and most sophesticated labs existing with this problem, I derived a pure philosophy that united the Spirits, Divinity, Gods and Miracles into one entity that is so obvious – MIND! The very platform for my experiments.

Our latest flick of the hero who is struggling in prison makes all the doubts cristal clear. Munna, the revered bhai gets a shortcut to the atma of Gandhiji. The shortcut being his love for a radio jockey. Gandhiji appears to him, gives all guidance, transforms his life completely. But he doesn’t appear to other people, obviously becase other people didn’t struggle so seriously for anything the way Munna did. This is simply not the age for such tasks. With new gadgets coming out every now and then there is no time for people to hook up with that old one trying to perfect its operation. Religion is a secondary thing, just done to keep the mouth of elders mum. It was not so always. Even today we see that bald-heads have a greater care for things. They value things beyond the limits youngsters set for themselves. But the conditions are so worse now that if a boy sits up giving them all the due respect, he wouldn’t know when and from where the blow of destiny might push him into the ditch of failure. The most we can do now is pity them. From respect to pity – what an improvement have the elders made through time!

In a way, they deserve it. They always kept things in haze. Never clear enough for the youngsters to understand. The irony of life is great – This is the only way the divine world can sustain itself. It is true! Really true! The Schrodingers Uncertainty Principle (as it is called at the hypocritic places around the world – colleges) certainly works in the mind world as well. The more accurately one consciously knows about the divine concepts, the lesser chances there are that it will hold true. For instance Munna Bhai wasn’t literate and yet he is inspiring Indians through out the world. The educated psychologist who treats Munnna on the other hand reveals the fact to him only lessening his confidence – The Chemical Locha is born. Thanks to science for it has given us such nuts. The important question – Do we need them? We need ‘Circuits’ who inspire for the divine laws to be strengthened. He doesn’t know the fact. All he knows is that his friend cannot lie and is in need of help, which he offers. NO questions asked, no explainations made. Did the bhaktas work any different through out these ages?

Coming back to our discussion of the miracles, let me tell the readers who haven’t grasped the reason for my babbling all this way – The miracles happen on the divine plane. When people like Munna come together in mass to seek the guidance from a being whom they hail as Sarvagnyatha. He comes to them, gives them all the guidance performs all the miracles. People receive them and their belief becomes stronger. No questions asked. No explainations made. For no education is needed to understand this. The most sophesticated lab facility is available to every person, the one perfected throught indefinite number of trials and tests (Natures tests for Survival). I was the same Chemical Locha that halucinated the masses to see the Hiranyakashapa being killed by an unseen creature conjuring himself from the pillar. It was the same Chemical Locha when Jesus might have walked on water, and It was the same Cheimcal Locha when the epic war was fought in India (i.e if it ever took place.

Some people (including me) just don’t understand. They want their intellect and knowledge satisfied logically. Based on material proofs or definite theories. Can they be satisfied? especially now that the faith has declined to such an extent that even born brothers don’t trust each other? No way! I keep reading about programs being aired about the holy artifacts – actual parts of the ‘Ten commandments’ or the ‘Cup of Christ’ etc etc etc… Okay accepted, they do exist. What would they be? Matter of coarse. They didn’t have any power within. The power was present in the mind of the one who held them. The power that inspired masses into hallucinations (in scientiic terms) guiding them in the right path. One that continues the evolutionary process as it has happened straight from the first sigle celled organism to the Homo Sapiens. Why didn’t they (the prophets) tell it? – As the irony would have it, they were never supposed to be know at conscious level. And why am I telling them? – obviously, I find our way of life out of meaning and I know the quest for total control would never stop (and in its path somewhere may lie the distruction existence beyond recovery). So, I decided to reveal the truth and let the people decide.

The miracles might come back again. It only requires for our desires towards spritual achievements rather than material quests. Are we ready to? Who has time! A lot many people would find me crazy. And they would be the same for me. Remember – The world is relative! The divine current had resulted in a perfect order on earth. The mix up has imbalanced the divine equillibrium through the knowledge gathered.Life would soon be turned into a ship in the museum of science. Everyone will admire it, but look at the irony – Ships are built to sail and lead sailors across oceans. Oh! I forgot, we are not nomads, We are civilised men. We have settled down or think of settling down.

I had first of all heard this word from sages during Pravachans. “Yeh sara jag Moha-Maya ka bhandhan hai” Sounds familiar? I bet it does! Many sages still use it, but they don’t define it precisely in a single definitive statement. The way we do for every quantity in science. The reason, they say is obvious: “These concepts are beyond explanation and can only be felt at deeper levels.” I have at least got an idea about this and want to start with it. It may however be analyzed continuously to arrive at more correct definition.

So let’s proceed….

I read about Maya the second time in speeches delivered by Swamy Vivekananda published in a book by name. ‘Jnana Yoga’. He cleared the confusion between Maya and illusion and said that Maya was used to mean the bond of relationship a person forms with other person or situations. A devoted mother would go to great limits to satisfy the needs of her child in the name of motherhood. She acts amazingly blind towards the rudeness of her child and his chances of growing into a careless individual who may not support her when she would be in great need of him. She can’t think of it.

He proceeded to tell the story of Shree Vishnu’s leela with Narada Muni, to show him the importance of Maya, which proceeds as under:

‘Narada is asked to fetch some water, by Lord Vishnu, in the midst of an unknown and dessert like place. On his way, he finds a charming lady, marries her after competing against people of her village and becomes father to some children.

Then a flood destroys the village. Narada, while struggling to save all his family members, looses all of them. At this moment, Lord Vishnu places his hand over his shoulders and asks him. “Narada, where is the water I asked you for? I have been waiting for an hour”.

Where exactly does Maya find explanation in the above conditions?

· In the blinding of the mother, towards the truth of her child in the name of motherhood?

· Or, when Narada forgets his lord’s thirst for the charming ness of lady? (He forgot that he was a Brahmachari!)

· Or, when he looses all his family members even when he could have saved many of them, had he made up his mind to loose some?

· Or, when Narada lived a lifetime within an hour.

Where exactly is the term Maya defined? What exactly is the meaning of this term?

Perhaps, it is very difficult to know this from these stories. I had to wait till I got something from ‘Bhagwan Rajneesh’ or ‘OSHO’ to read. He has explained Maya with the following situation:

“Some people are sitting in a room. Suddenly, a man coughs. There is quite a possibility that someone else in the group would cough. The action of the second person would be involuntary. He would feel an itch at his throat and cough would result.”

From practical experiences, I found that this act of imitating the cougher depends upon the thought pattern or belief of the person concerned. If he feels at deeper level that a cough is inevitable in case someone coughs in front of him. If he feels strongly that cough is contagious action, he would feel the itch at his throat and would involuntarily cough, however hard he might try at the voluntary level to avoid it. The same is oppositely true for a person who feels that cough need not or will not propagate. In this case he would not get the cough however hard he may try to bring it at voluntary level.

So, Maya could be defined as follows in the above discussion’s light:

“It is a bond or relationship that a person forms with other persons or situations that involuntarily makes him do tasks he believes are inevitable. “

The Maya, thus defined, appears in the story of Vishnu’s leela along with some other instances that confuse us. When I went back into my childhood while arguing with my inner guides (in thoughts), I found that lesser and lesser such bonds were present as I got more & more closer to my birth. I even found that some such bonds I had myself created in the blind run or egoism, just to get something done from my parents! If I proceed thus, and reach my birth at some time, there would not be any such bonds to me at my birth time. But the whole life is said to be a Maya.

The fact is that we have just arrived at a partial view of the Maya and the whole definition would include all the good and bad concerned with the bond. For instance, the bond mentioned in the definition above is Moha or Moha-Maya (A part or type of Maya). Let me put before you, now, my view of the worlds and how exactly would I define Maya:

Let me ask you a question first. How many worlds exist? Well! I am not speaking about Swarga Naraka or Paatal Loka. In the view of present science, how many worlds do you think, exist? Well! Here is my conclusion:

There are two worlds existing or rather co-existing right now. One is the Physical or material world and the other mind or Imaginary world. By Physical world I mean everything we see & feel around us – The TV, books, pen chair, tables, soil, moon, sun, the whole Universe, and all the laws like Gravity, nuclear forces, magnetic fields, light etc. In living things, it is the hardware part which one can touch.

By mind or imaginary world I mean all thought we have, anger, remembrance of a face or place experiences and everything that is present in our imagination. It is the software part of living beings, which one can only feel.

These are complete worlds in themselves. Physical world is formed by complicated manifestations of energy while the imaginary world is formed by complicated manifestations of thoughts. So, by a world, I mean something formed by Mind world & material world are formed from different basic building blocks, they are different worlds in themselves, but are interdependent on each others.

In the light of this view of the worlds, Maya can now be defined as:

“A bond that connects the imaginary or mind world with the Physical or Material world.“

(The definition would be complete if we define a world, I am working on it.)

It let’s us manifest our thoughts in the physical world through our body. However, it’s been found that this bond can’t exist between a non-living object and imaginary world. Whether this barrier set by nature under normal conditions can be crossed under extra-ordinary conditions, is a thing difficult to guess. There are some good examples that scientists have created for us in the form of robots. They are formed completely of non-living objects and can do intelligent works depending on the software we have fed into it. These mechanical beings controlled by electronic circuits seem to have their own imaginary or mind world. It’s all in their software programs. Unlike our mind world that is formed by thoughts, their world is formed by two unique quantities, zeros and ones. This world is perfect in its own way and is unique. So, we might need to put this under a new category Virtual or machine world would be a better name.

It really thrills me when I try to put down the total story of the universe: First was formed the material or physical world that gave birth to mind world. Mind world gave birth to another world – The virtual world. And now, the mind world and virtual world are now competing for the changes created on physical plane.

While, Indian philosophers have dealt with the mind world in great depth and gave birth to such great scriptures as Vedas, the western people have depicted the same laws with the Virtual World. Hope you have seen the “Matrix Trilogy”.

It is sure that Indians had civilized in the second world and known the secrets of it to great extent. It was his understanding that gave India all its wealth. But this material wealth was never important for Indians. For them the matters of spiritual or Mind world held great importance. They preferred being civilized in the second world & create personalities according to the need of time, Rather than recording everything that happens, and waiting for some great scientist to come up and improve it to a greater extent. Later however our complete system was devastated and we lost sight of everything in the material race of the world.

British sure destroyed India to a great extent while trying to extract us on material lane. It’s worse to think that we couldn’t accept them completely and show them our true worth. But look at the iron, that the bases of all this I have written, is again coming from someone in the west. Yes, the method I use to talk with my inner guides is “Creative Visualisation”, which I read from a book with same name written by ‘Shakti Gawain’.

Overall, I think time is now ripe. We must start recovering whatever is left of that divine knowledge store house. Swamy Vivekananda meant that India would rise if she rediscovers her spiritual glory or else she would go down in corruption and politics. We have so much misunderstanding of the terms of Vedas and think that they mean to go away from life. The fact however is that they just tell us about the different things that exist. How we take them, is a thing that goes on our attitude, much the same way as science has been utilised for destruction as well. We must join hands to bring this ancient knowledge to modern light. The Vedas are like ship which is kept at the shore. Because, it is damaged & and is found safe here. But a ship is not built for that. We must repair it & show the westerners that the navigation of the ocean of knowledge would never be complete without the ship of Vedas. Come let’s evolve.

I was sitting quietly at my room thinking about the concept of Maya. When Prajakt ran to me amazed.

“Hey! You must see this film ‘Lage raho munna bhai’”, he said. “Very nice film! You talk a lot about mind world na! The whole film is based upon the same concept. You see.. The name of the film must have been something like ‘Munna bhai meets Mahatma’ or something like that.”

Prajakt is a very good friend of mine, and a very reliable one with whom I can share all my philosophy. Unlike my other friends, he doesn’t make fun of them and hears patiently. At his amazement, the first thought I got was – “It is time my friends start respecting my philosophy.” But the very next moment came a reply from my inner guide mimicking one of my friends who always opposed what I had to say. “Woh sub filmon main hota hai. Real life main nahin“. Well, the only problem with such friends of mine is their negative attitude. Once this is changed they would come up with flying colours to compete against anyone in the world.

Coming back to the film, history has been successfully depicted working wonders in this present time, in films like ‘Rang De Basanthi’ & ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’. I think it is time we do the same with our real life also. By this I don’t’ just mean distributing flowers to our foes with get well soon cards or becoming Krantikarees to revolutionise the country. But assimilating the knowledge collected by Ancient Indian Philosophers and bringing it within the confines of observation based knowledge we call science.

This ancient Indian philosophy is present mostly in the form of Sanskrit scriptures which have been not so correctly translated. They have always created respect and amazement in our hearts but the concepts have not been fully understood. My aim, in writing these set of articles, is to encourage people to completely understand the concepts like Atman, Maya, Janma, Marana, Moksha, Atma etc in the light of ultimate truths. We must rationally try to analyse what exactly are these concepts and what is their physical significance.

I have found, through continuous arguments with an inner guide, that one can reach at conclusions that seem greatly mysterious to a slow thinker. By inner guide, I mean someone present within your mind who can talk to you. Gandhiji perhaps was the inner guide of Munna Bhai in the film. The belief of Munna bhai in him is so strong that he can even see and feel his presence, which ultimately is, because of his true love (for the heroine).

I haven’t been able to see my inner guides yet. Probably cause my belief towards them is not so strong as the character of Munna bhai in the movie. But I certainly am able to interact and argue with them. These arguments have lead to some conclusions which I want to share with you.

Let’s begin with Maya, for I see many misconceptions about this divine bond. First, I would like to discuss some references from the speeches of Swamy Vivekananda and books of OSHO, then proceed to explain my view of the worlds and what I found Maya to be.

To be straight, These are not complete recreation of the ancient scriptures. I have a scientific explaination of that ageold divine knowledge, which I would like to share with you here.

Don’t worry, I am not like those hypocritic priest trying to rule people under the banner of God. I will just publish scientifc theories and let you decide the outcome. One warning for the die hard western scientists though – “The explainations given here would prove you to be working with Kaal (As is Kaliyug) or Satan (or Shaitan) to discover God, not knowing that he is leading you to Ultimate distruction (Utiliising your curiosity).

The message is simple. It is good to have exact knowledge as in the Wstern Science, but there wouldn’t be any use of it, if the assimilation of that knowledge itself destroys the existence.

I would like it if you mail me your questions. I fear my explainations may rise many misconceptions among people, after all even the great philosopher of Greek didn’t circulate his philosophy throughout the world for the same fear. But, he always encouraged people to ask questions to clarify the matter, and I’d like to follow the suit.
